If you wade into a bunker or burn thinking, “this is going to take me two shots to escape” it probably will.
Your performance is a reflection of your beliefs. If you believe that you can you will and if you belief you can’t, you won’t. Change your beliefs and performance by:
- Having a lesson from your local pro or spending some quality practice time in the sand – this will increase your confidence.
- Imagine yourself getting out of a hazard in one shot – not just out, but close to the pin or even in the hole. Aim to do what you are physically capable of doing.
- Use positive self-talk – for example, “I will get it out first time!”.
